How to Make AI Birthday Photos from One Selfie

A beginner-friendly guide to choosing a birthday scene, uploading a photo, editing the prompt and reviewing your AI image.

You want a nice birthday photo, but booking a studio feels like too much work. You can start with a selfie. The main job is simple: pick a scene, check the prompt, and review what comes back. Open the AI birthday photo tool to follow along.

1. Pick a photo you can use

Upload one PNG, JPEG or WebP image that you own or have permission to use. A well-lit photo with one clear face is a helpful starting point.

Think about what you want to keep. For example, you might ask for the same hairstyle or outfit, but the model may still change details. Avoid expecting an exact copy of the original photo.

2. Choose a birthday scene

The tool has three scene ideas:

  • Studio with number balloons: a polished portrait with a simple background and festive balloons.
  • Cake portrait: a closer, warmer celebration with a cake and candlelight.
  • Outdoor celebration: a relaxed portrait in natural daylight.

The tool’s scene pictures are licensed inspiration photos, not generated results. They are not sent to the image model. Use them to compare the mood of each scene.

3. Add an age only if you want one

Age is optional. Leave the field blank if you do not want an age number in the prompt. If you add one, enter a whole number from 1 to 120. The tool does not read or detect a person’s age from the photo.

After you change the age or scene, click Apply to prompt. That updates the editable prompt. The image follows the current prompt, so check it before you continue. You can adjust the wording yourself at any time.

4. Make the prompt more specific

Start simple. A cake, soft light, and a quiet background are enough for a first try. Add useful details such as clothing or mood. The examples below are untested starting prompts, not promises. Change them to fit your photo and idea.

Studio starting prompt

Use my uploaded photo as the subject reference. Create a polished birthday portrait in a simple studio with soft light, a warm neutral background and tasteful number balloons. Keep the person’s visible hairstyle and clothing similar. Show the number 30 clearly if number balloons appear. No extra words.

Cake starting prompt

Use my uploaded photo as the subject reference. Create a close birthday portrait beside a small cake with candlelight and a warm background. Keep the mood calm and joyful. Show the number 30 clearly if a number is included. Avoid extra text.

Outdoor starting prompt

Use my uploaded photo as the subject reference. Create a relaxed outdoor birthday portrait in soft daylight with a few simple decorations and a natural garden background. Keep the composition uncluttered. Show the number 30 clearly if a number is included. Avoid extra text.

Change the age in an example or remove that instruction. The model can still alter numbers or add unwanted details. To avoid text problems, ask for no readable writing and add lettering later in an image editor.

5. Check settings and the credit amount

Choose an image model and the settings it offers. Read the current credit amount for that selection before generating. The amount can change with the model and settings, so use the quote on the page instead of an example price in an article.

You need to sign in and have enough credits to start generation. If you change the model or settings, review the displayed amount again. Do not start until the selection and prompt look right to you.

6. Review and download the result

When an image is ready, check the face, hands, clothing, cake, decorations and any numbers or words. The model may change facial details, miss the age number or alter likeness. If something is wrong, edit the prompt and check the credit amount before generating again.

After a successful result, use Download to save the image. Check the saved image before sharing or printing.

Common problems and simple fixes

  • The face looks different: describe the visible features you want to keep, such as hairstyle or glasses.
  • The age is missing or wrong: apply the prompt again after changing the age, then inspect every digit in the result.
  • The scene feels too busy: remove extra decorations and ask for a simple background with one main subject.
  • The prompt did not update: after changing the age or scene, click Apply to prompt. Then read the prompt field to confirm it changed.
  • The result has unwanted text: ask for no readable text, then add wording yourself later if needed.

Open the AI birthday photo tool to choose a scene and review the current options.
